Rape Suspect Arrested

Orlando Rodriguez RiveraOn Jan. 21, 2024, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Williamsburg Police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Scotland Street for an assault.

The initial investigation revealed that Orlando Rodriguez Rivera, 41 of York County, raped a 36-year-old female in an alley located in the 700 block of Scotland Street. The victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to Riverside Doctors’ Hospital.

Orlando Rodriguez Rivera was not on scene when the police arrived. He was arrested at his residence at approximately 8 a.m. that same day and transported to the Virginia Regional Peninsula Jail. He was charged with rape through the use of the victim’s mental incapacity or physical helplessness.

Orlando Rodriguez Rivera and the victim were observed patronizing the Brickhouse Tavern in the City of Williamsburg prior to the incident.
