Pedestrian Involved Traffic Crash on Richmond Road

Williamsburg Fire and Police departments responded to a traffic crash involving a pedestrian on Richmond Road near Armistead Avenue on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023.

A preliminary investigation found that at approximately 8:12 a.m., a black Audi sport utility vehicle was driving east on Richmond Road when it struck a 21-year-old female walking on Richmond Road.

The female has been transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The City of Williamsburg’s medical director, Dr. Bryant Gray, was serving with the Williamsburg Fire Department Emergency Medical Services at the time of the incident and provided care on the scene and during transport.

The Virginia State Police are assisting the Williamsburg Police Department to conduct the crash investigation. Richmond Road, between Boundary Street and the westbound side of Dawson Circle, is closed as the investigation continues.
