Update: Strangulation Subject Arrested

haywoodJeffrey Haywood, 42 of York County, was arrested by the Williamsburg Police Department with assistance from the James City County Police Department on Oct. 20, 2023. Haywood was wanted out of Williamsburg for domestic assault, strangulation, petit larceny, property damage, prevention of 911, and willful destruction of physical evidence.

 We would like to thank the James City County Police Department for their assistance.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about this case to please contact the Williamsburg Police Department at 757-220-2331. The Williamsburg Police Department is actively investigating the strangulation of a female victim and has identified Jeffrey Lloyd Haywood, 42 of York County, as a wanted suspect.

HaywoodOfficers were called around 2 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, to the 500 block of York Street for a domestic incident. A female victim was located with injuries and transported to a local hospital. Haywood fled the scene on a black bicycle prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Haywood was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and shorts.

Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau obtained arrest warrants against Haywood for domestic assault, strangulation, petit larceny, property damage, prevention of calling 911, and willful destruction of physical evidence.

Haywood  is described as a 42-year-old, white male, 6-feet tall, 185 pounds, with gray hair, and a gray beard. If you see Haywood, please call 911 immediately.
