Inaugural Virginia Comedy Festival Opens Call for Virginia Acts

A new comedy festival featuring four days of improv and stand-up comedy acts is coming to Williamsburg, Virginia, on Jan. 25-28, 2024. The festival will feature a mix of curated headliner acts and submission-based performances from around the country.

The submission process is currently open and available to any improv or stand-up comedy acts interested in performing at the 2024 event. Submitters are asked to provide a video showcasing a past performance and pay a submission fee ($20 for improv, $10 for stand-up) to be considered for the event. College performers may submit their acts for free.

The main sponsor of the festival is the City of Williamsburg, and the event is being produced by AVAdventure Productions, a Williamsburg production company.

“We’re extremely excited to showcase a variety of known and up-and-coming talent within the festival,” said Liz Sykes, event producer.

Submissions are open until Nov. 2, and the final lineup of programming for the festival will be announced in December. More information is available at lastwordfestival.com.
