In-person early voting for the November General Election begins on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023.
Ballots for City of Williamsburg voters include the races for:
- State Senate District 24
- House of Delegates District 71
- Williamsburg-James City County Sheriff
- Williamsburg-James City County Clerk of Court
- Williamsburg-James City County Commonwealth’s Attorney
- Williamsburg-James City County Treasurer
- Colonial District Soil and Water Commission

City voters can cast their ballots in-person at the Municipal Building, 401 Lafayette St. in the Registrar’s Office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until Friday, Nov. 3. The office will also be open two Saturdays during this election season: Oct. 28 and Nov. 4.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023. To see a precinct map for polling locations on Election Day, visit williamsburgva.gov/vote.
Absentee ballots, which will be mailed to those who requested to vote by mail, can be returned to a dropbox outside the front doors of the Municipal Building or sent through the mail; postage is prepaid. Ballots sent through the mail must be postmarked by Election Day, Nov. 7, 2023, and received no later than Monday, Nov. 13, 2023.
