Thanksgiving Holiday Closings, Schedule Adjustments

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, City of Williamsburg offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, 2022. This includes the offices in the Municipal Building on Lafayette Street and Quarterpath Recreation Center.

The Williamsburg-James City County Courthouse on Monticello Avenue closes at noon Wednesday, Nov. 23 and is closed on Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25. 

Waller Mill Park is closed on Thursday, Nov. 24. It follows normal operating hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25.

The holiday does not affect trash or recycling in the City. It is a Red Route Week for leaf collection; leaf collection will not occur on Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25.

For water and sewer emergencies after hours, weekends, and holidays, please call 757-220-2331. More information can be found at williamsburgva.gov/publicworks.

Need to pay a City bill when offices are closed? A convenient 24-hour bill payment drop box is located at the front of the Municipal Building, 401 Lafayette St., for City transactions, and payments can be made online. Dropbox payments made on Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25, will not be posted until Monday, Nov. 28.

Reminder: Real estate tax bills for the period July 1-Dec. 31, 2022, are due Dec. 1.
