Williamsburg Parks and Recreation will host its annual Memorial Mile this weekend, Friday, May 27 through Monday, May 30, at Waller Mill Park, 901 Airport Road.
Remembrance signs will be displayed to honor the sacrifice of fallen Military, Fire, EMS, law enforcement members, and K9s killed in the line of duty. All are welcome to visit the park and read the stories of bravery and sacrifice of those taken too soon. Waller Mill Park will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the weekend.
“We are honored to share the stories of those heroes who were taken too soon,” Williamsburg Parks and Recreation Deputy Director Tyler Cobb said. “Memorial Mile is a small way to acknowledge their sacrifices and honor their memories.”
