The Greater Williamsburg Clinic, operating out of the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center, administered 911 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine this week for a total of 19,534 vaccinations since its opening on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021.

On Thursday, Gov. Ralph Northam announced that sports and entertainment venues in Virginia may expand capacity, and social gathering limits will increase next month. Starting Sunday, May 15:

  • The maximum number of individuals permitted in a social gathering will increase to 100 people for indoor settings and 250 for outdoor settings.
  • Indoor entertainment and public amusement venues will be allowed to operate at 50% capacity or 1,000 people. Outdoor venues will be able to operate at 50% capacity.
  • The number of spectators allowed at indoor recreation sporting events will be set at 250 spectators or 50% capacity, whichever is less. Outdoor recreational sporting events can have 1,000 people or 50% capacity, whichever is less.
  • Restaurants may return to selling alcohol after midnight, and dining room closures will no longer be required between midnight and 5 a.m.

Please remember to wear a mask, maintain physical distance from others, and wash your hands. People who have been vaccinated should continue to follow these mitigation strategies.

The City of Williamsburg has posted its weekly vaccination update to its online hub, which collects the latest coronavirus information and visual data. This data includes the number of vaccinations administered at the Greater Williamsburg Clinic.
