Public Transportation
Consider riding the bus or the new Williamsburg Trolley. Visit Williamsburg Area Transit Authority for information about schedules, student rates and routes. The trolley links Williamsburg shopping and entertainment districts — linking Merchants Square, Williamsburg Shopping Center, High Street and New Town.
Bike
Whether for commuting or recreation, riding a bicycle in Williamsburg is easy and fun. In 2017, the City was designated as a Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists. Two local bicycling resources are the Williamsburg Area Bicyclists and Bike/Walk Williamsburg.
Remember to share the road safely by following the law and good sense. Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists share the road and need to be respectful of each other.
Walk
Williamsburg is a very walkable city. Great City Walks (PDF) shows walking tours of varying degree of difficulty and distance throughout the city — including the College of William and Mary campus and Colonial Williamsburg's Historic Area.
Walk Your Dog
Don't leave your dog behind! Visit the Waller Mill Dog Park or simply stroll down Duke of Gloucester Street and mingle at the Williamsburg Farmers Market.
