Biography
Barbara “Barb” Ramsey came to Williamsburg from a small town in the Shenandoah Valley in 1971 to attend William & Mary where she received a degree in biology.
She was employed for 10 years by KDK & Associates, a Williamsburg business, marketing Government contracts and then recruited in 1986 by Thomasville Furniture Industries Contract Division. She retired from Thomasville in 2013 followed by three years of employment with the Clubs of Colonial Williamsburg. She retired in July 2016.
Barb is a devoted alumna of William & Mary volunteering in many areas. Barb was appointed as the Landlord Representative to the Neighborhood Relations Committee (NRC) in 2014 and volunteers for the Williamsburg Farmer’s Market, the USO (United Service Organization), Campus Kitchens, and Sentara Colonial Half-Marathon.
Barb represents the City on the Williamsburg Public Art Council, Economic Development Authority, Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance, Greater Peninsula Workforce Development Consortium, and Eastern Virginia Regional Industrial Facilities Authority, as wells as an alternate on Virginia First Cities.
She resides in the Griffin Avenue neighborhood.
